Winter Happy Morning Dove

I thought I will play with you small memory game. I looked back into some archives, and I thought I will re-post this image of the morning dove sitting on my BBQ. This is actually variation of the one I posted back on December 17, 2007. I checked who commented back than, and it is kind of hard to believe that lot of you are still around, and visiting my blog, and never mind its been more than three years. My blogging isn't that active as before, but I am not planning to stop, but there is always some unexpected, and hopefully there will be none.

Everything is fine here, the winter is coming, flu, colds, Christmas shopping everything is piling up. But overall life is good, and if you want to hear the latest and greatest about Matthew, have fun reading Kids Say the Darndest Things - NO Bath Time Please.

Shake That Snow Off - It's Not Time Yet

Yes, it is not time yet for the snow. Last week we had snow falling all day, however, the ground was still warm so it didn't stay. Nights are colder now and every day we wake up to the freezing temperatures, yet we are blessed with beautiful fall like days with temperatures above 10 degrees C.

Last week I was very lucky, yet I felt lucky too. I got my camera ready, adjusted ISO settings and left it on the kitchen island. By noon I had the screaming Blue Jay on my backyard, walking on the grass and on the fence, and his or her flying companion zooming by. That wasn't the end, a little Junco and Chickadees arrived also. I wasn't lucky photographing them, but at least I got something. It was windy, snowing and I was standing behind the window.

I think I mention that before. The nice thing about the fall and winter and the bird photography is that there are no leafs for the birds to hide. They are more exposed, so it is easier to see them and of course photograph them.

I am hoping for more sightings like that on my backyard. I am so tempted to put out the bird seeds again, but then do I want another mouse in my house?
